37 WK Check-Up

I have gained one pound in two weeks.

Thats a total of 33 pounds!

I am almost 37 weeks ( tomorrow is the day that makes me " term. " )

My belly is measuring at 41 weeks. Holy Cow!

My C-Section has been rescheduled for July 8th.

YAY!

We will go in around 2:30, and our surgery will be at 5pm.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I am relieved.

Let the count down begin!

Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Wilkins/Wilkins Camping Trip

It was right on the beach.

It was with family.

There were camp fires, good cooking, music playing, long naps, and simple fun.

It was perfect!

Can't wait to do it again Wilkins Family!!!

P.S. Cole and Olivia have officially begun the love/hate relationship they will hold for years to come. It was great to see the cousin love.. but it was pretty cute to see them fight like sister and brother!!!!!

34 WK Check-Up

I am 34 weeks and four days today.

I have gained a total of 32 pounds.

I am measuring at 35 1/2 weeks. Which means my belly is still a week and a half ahead of schedule.

My blood pressure is perfect - and I feel ...

like poop!

Ha!

I passed my mucus plug last Saturday. Since then the contractions have went from a Two to a Six. I have them all day long, and some are in my back. The pressure is incredible, and .. well. I wont go into any further details because I might disgust you! It has not been fun.

Remember me saying how patient I am for her arrival a few postings ago. Well, that has changed. I want her now!

I was sent away from this appt being told they'd like to see her cook for at least two more weeks, ( realistically, and unselfishly - I fully agree. ) and I can take extra strength tylenol and tylenol PM. If the pain gets worse, they will prescribe me valium.

Patience!!!

I am trying to remind myself that these next few weeks are our last together. That it will never be just her and I. We will never physically be considered "one." That I will have to share her with the rest of the world.

Patience!!!

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
